Bareboat Charter

Sailboats and catamarans for licensed skippers

Bareboat Charter

Charter a sailboat or catamaran weekly and skipper it yourself.

From €3,800 per week

If you hold a sailing licence, bareboat charter gives you complete freedom on the route. Sailboats and catamarans are handed over with fuel, water and shore power, and a marina briefing is given on the first day.

Who can charter?

  • At least one person with a Yacht Master or Short-Range Yacht Master licence (or an equivalent ICC)
  • Documented sailing experience within the last three years
  • An adult charterer who pays the deposit and signs the contract

Deposit and equipment

A deposit of €2,000-5,000 depending on length is taken and released on damage-free return. Boats are delivered with GPS, VHF, life raft, tender and complete ground tackle.

Optional support

You can add a training skipper for the first two days, coastal route advice, a full provisioning service and weekend marina reservations.

Handover and return

Handover is on Saturday at 15:00 and the technical checklist is signed together. Return is on Saturday at 09:00, with a diver's hull check, fuel level and cleanliness inspected. On damage-free return the deposit is paid back to your account within seven working days.

Scope of service

  • A skipper licence is required
  • €2,000-5,000 refundable deposit

Frequently asked questions

How early should I book a blue cruise?
For July-August weeks we recommend booking four to six months ahead, and two to three months ahead for May-June and September. Early and late in the season last-minute opportunities exist; write to our reservations team for availability.
What does the price include?
The vessel, captain and crew, insurance, equipment (kayaks, snorkels, paddle boards) and bed linen and towels are included. Fuel, harbour and provisioning allowance (APA) and alcoholic drinks are shown separately. See the itemised breakdown in the price calculator.
When is the deposit due and how much is it?
30% of the charter fee is taken as a deposit when the contract is signed and the balance is paid 30 days before the cruise. Payment can be made by card, bank transfer or foreign cards.
Is cruising with children safe?
Yes. All vessels carry child-sized life jackets and deck nets are rigged for little ones. Catamarans, with flat decks and little roll, are especially suitable for families with babies.
Can I choose the route and ports?
Our suggested routes are a starting point. Each evening the captain plans the next day with you taking into account weather, sea state and your wishes. The safety side of any routing decision always rests with the captain.
